The Young Bucks aren’t the only members of The Elite facing a contract decision in the near future. According to Karl Anderson, Kenny Omega is on the exact same timeline.
Speaking on Talk N Shop, Anderson revealed that Omega’s AEW deal is set to expire next year, the same timeline he’d previously disclosed for Matt and Nick Jackson’s own contracts.
Kenny’s contract is done next year.
Given how much history the four men share dating back to Bullet Club, Anderson admitted it feels strange to even think about a wrestling landscape without them.
Anderson framed the moment in bigger-picture terms, arguing that fans may not fully appreciate how much wrestlers like Omega and The Young Bucks have shaped the industry until they’re no longer around weekly.
I think when guys like the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, who changed the landscape of wrestling, when they hang it up, dude, you’re not going to ever see these guys ever again. And it’s going to go, ‘Oh… oh s***.’ Like, that’s some historical s*** that they did.
The Young Bucks’ contract is done next year. I talk to them every single day. “You know what? How much longer will the Bucks go, dude? I don’t know.
The update follows Anderson’s earlier comments confirming the Bucks’ contracts are also due up next year, alongside noting he stays in regular contact with both brothers and admitting even he doesn’t know how much longer they intend to keep wrestling.
None of this confirms Omega or The Young Bucks are walking away next year but with three major contracts inside The Elite all lining up around the same time, 2027 is shaping up as a pivotal year for the group’s future in AEW.
