Mara Sadé is billing herself as an AEW talent before the company has said a word. A new “Meet Mara” bio promoting the former WWE and TNA star describes her career as “making her mark in WWE, TNA, and now AEW (All Elite Wrestling).”
AEW has not announced a signing, and no debut date has been reported. That makes the bio the clearest public signal yet from Sadé herself about where she’s headed next.
It surfaces seven weeks after TNA confirmed on August 3 that Sadé and Jody Threat were departing the promotion. Sadé’s deal had expired weeks earlier, and she hit free agency in late July while talking to multiple companies.
AEW Was The Expected Destination From The Start
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that TNA raised its offer to keep her, but that sources in both TNA and AEW expected her to end up in AEW. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that multiple TNA talents believed she was AEW-bound, and added that WWE had some interest in bringing her back.
Sadé worked TNA’s Philadelphia tapings without a contract to finish her Knockouts Television Championship tournament run. She lost that quarterfinal to Heather by Elegance, and her final TNA match aired August 6.
The move also puts her in the same company as her real-life partner, Kevin Knight, who lost the AEW TNT Championship to Darby Allin at All In on August 30. Asked about her future on The Masked Man Show in August, Knight kept it close to the vest.
“Your guess is as good as mine,” Knight said. “The biggest thing that I could say is she’s been working hard to not only prove the people wrong but to prove herself right and to finish her story and to keep continuing on.”
Sadé wrestled in WWE as Jakara Jackson from 2022 until her 2025 release, spending much of her NXT run in Meta-Four alongside Lash Legend, Noam Dar, and Oro Mensah. Her new bio also cites a run on The Titan Games with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, an appearance in Vogue, and work as an actress and award-winning visual artist.
