Mike Santana Shares Cryptic Post Amid WWE Rumors

ByAndrew RavensProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Mike Santana appears to be WWE-bound, with his TNA contract set to expire in the coming days and a deal with WWE expected once he is free and clear to sign, according to PWInsider.

Santana posted “7/15” to his social media pages following his TNA World Championship loss to Nic Nemeth at Slammiversary over the weekend, fueling speculation about what the date signals. He will not participate in TNA’s TV tapings this week, with PWInsider reporting his contract expires imminently.

Santana wrestled for TNA from 2017 to 2019 before a five-year run in AEW, primarily as part of a tag team with Ortiz. He returned to TNA in 2024 and had the most successful singles run of his career, capturing the TNA World Championship twice.

He also made several NXT appearances during that period thanks to the TNA-WWE working relationship, including a TNA World Championship match against Trick Williams that Williams won.

His familiarity with the NXT audience makes a developmental landing spot a logical starting point before a potential call-up to Raw or SmackDown.

NXT’s men’s division has lost significant depth to the main roster in recent months through the call-ups of Williams, Oba Femi, Je’Von Evans, Ethan Page, and Ricky Saints, making Santana an appealing immediate addition who could compete for the NXT Championship from the start.
