Former TNA World Champion Mike Santana is wasting no time announcing his intentions in WWE.
Hours after staring down NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo on the July 21, 2026 episode of NXT, Santana took to social media with a three-word message that made his ambitions clear.
Shit just got REAL,” Santana wrote, attaching video of the confrontation. It was his way of signaling that D’Angelo and the NXT Championship are squarely in his sights.
Santana confirmed the reaction himself in a post on Mike Santana (X/Twitter).
This week’s appearance carried different weight than his previous NXT cameos. Santana had made several crossover appearances on the brand while under TNA contract, but reports describe Tuesday’s segment as his first official appearance as a signed WWE talent. WWE has not yet revealed a new on-screen name for him.
The Staredown That Set It Off
The confrontation came moments after D’Angelo retained his title. D’Angelo had just put away Naraku with a Dead to Rights through a table to win their street fight.
