More than one title changed hands on SmackDown.
Tonight’s episode of the Blue Branded show featured not one but three different championship matches. The first match saw Baron Corbin retaining the US title over Carmelo Hayes.
The second title bout of the night featured Damian Priest and R-Truth defending the tag titles against War Raiders and Tama Tonga & Talla Tonga of the MFTs. Haku was at ringside to support his sons in this match.
Truth looked to be in control of the bout as he picked Tama Tonga up for an Attitude Adjustment. The challenger, however, poked the champion in the eye and shoved him into Erik, who was trying to get into the ring. The MFTs then pinned R-Truth with their finisher to become the new tag team champions.
The last title match of the night saw Tiffany Stratton defending the Women’s US Title against Jacy Jayne. Fallon Henley tried to help Jayne towards the end of the bout but Chelsea Green showed up to even the odds.
Lainey Reid, however, then also joined her Fatal Influence partners and the numbers proved to be too much for the champion. Tiffany took out both Reid and Henley with an outside dive, but the distraction allowed Jayne to capitalize and win the title as Stratton got back into the ring.
