Major Update On Rusev & Ethan Page As A Tag Team

Rusev’s upcoming return could bring an unexpected question about one of his recent WWE partnerships, especially after the company’s latest update on where things currently stand.

During an exclusive audio episode of WrestleVotes Radio hosted behind the Fightful Select Patreon paywall, the status of Rusev and Ethan Page was addressed, and despite the time they spent working together on Monday Night RAW, WWE does not currently recognize them as an official tag team.

They’re not officially listed as a tag team. Rusev’s been out of action for over a month now, and he’s due back relatively soon. It’s not known if they will be a tag team going forward, but they are not an official tag team right now.

That leaves Rusev’s direction wide open once he returns. His injury forced the partnership with Page to go on pause, and there is no indication at this point that WWE plans to immediately resume the pairing.

The good news is that Rusev may not be away much longer. CJ Perry recently revealed on NotSam Wrestling that Rusev visited the WWE Performance Center and received medical clearance after dealing with the injury that removed him from television, along with another health issue.

But he is not planning to simply walk back onto RAW. Perry said Rusev intends to train with NXT in Orlando and also visit Natalya’s Dungeon 2.0 to sharpen his skills before returning to WWE television.

Rusev has been sidelined since his July 27 RAW match against Je’Von Evans, where he landed awkwardly on his neck and experienced numbness in his hands. He finished the match before going backstage for medical attention.

Now that the Bulgarian Brute is cleared and nearing his comeback, the biggest question may be whether Ethan Page will still be standing beside him.
