Steven Borden Breaks Silence On AEW All Out Concussion

Steven Borden confirmed he suffered a concussion at AEW All Out, while Darby Allin claimed he was unconscious for six minutes.

Steven Borden is back in action after the scary injury at AEW All Out. He confirmed the cause was a concussion, and Darby Allin had a joke about how long he was out.

Borden appeared on First Coast News in Jacksonville ahead of Blood & Guts, with Allin beside him. He said it feels great to be back. He explained that he was concussed and knocked out for a little bit during his tag match at the September 26 pay-per-view.

He called the recovery strange. With a physical injury, he said, such as a torn knee, you can feel it and understand why you can’t compete. This time he felt fine, yet he wasn’t allowed to return until he was cleared. He wanted to be back out there and couldn’t be, so being back now feels very good.

It feels great to be back,” he said.

“So I got concussed, I was knocked out for a little bit. It’s weird though because with injuries, like when you’re sidelined, normally you can feel it, like you tore something in your knee or whatever.

And so you know as much as you want to get back in the action, you can’t. But for me, I felt fine. So it’s just this weird thing of, like, I wanted to be back out there, but I couldn’t. And now that I’m back, it feels pretty dang good.

Allin couldn’t leave “a little bit” alone. He jumped in to say Borden was actually snoring for six full minutes, which he said was a lot more than a little.

A little bit? You were snoring for six minutes straight,” Allin said. “It wasn’t a little bit. It was a lot of bit.

Borden suffered the injury when he and Allin faced Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher at All Out. During a double coast-to-coast spot, Borden hit his head and couldn’t continue. Knight and Fletcher won by referee stoppage.

Borden recently returned on the October 21 edition of AEW Dynamite and is set to compete in Blood & Guts this Wednesday. His team includes Allin, The Young Bucks, Adam Copeland and Will Ospreay, facing Knight, Fletcher, Mark Davis, Jake Doyle, Wardlow and Kazuchika Okada.
