The rookie wrestling star suffered a scary injury while attempting a coast-to-coast spot during his All Out match. Medical personnel were called to the ringside immediately after the exchange, and the match was called off.
Tony Schiavone on commentary provided a positive update on the 33-year-old later in the show. The veteran announcer confirmed that the AEW star was taken to the hospital where he was conscious and responsive:
Steven Borden did arrive at the hospital. He is conscious; he is responsive. He’s been talking to the doctors about the match. Our thoughts are with him. We’re all thinking about Steven Borden right now.
Borden had teamed up with Darby Allin to face Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher of the Don Callis Family during his PPV debut match. Knight and Fletcher were declared the winners after his injury, earning a future shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
Cage and Cope defended the tag titles in a three-way ladder match against FTR and The Young Bucks later in the night. The Bucks won this bout, ending Cage and Cope’s reign at 125 days.
