NXT Stars Get Matching Tattoos After Historic Casket Match

ByStaffProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Tatum Paxley and Wendy Choo were on opposite sides of a bitter rivalry, but the two former partners just put a permanent stamp on the history they made together. The WWE NXT stars got matching casket tattoos to commemorate competing in what was billed as the first-ever women’s casket match in WWE.

The reveal of the tattoos came via Tatum Paxley’s Instagram Story.

The two superstars met in the stipulation match on the October 29, 2024 episode of NXT, with Paxley coming out on top. Their feud kicked off when Choo turned on Paxley to end their partnership at Great American Bash 2024, and it built to the casket showdown.

Paxley revealed the matching ink on her Instagram story, crediting Orlando-based artist Celeste Payne with the work. The tattoos serve as a lasting emblem of a shared milestone, even as both women have moved on to separate paths since the rivalry ended.

Paxley has continued to tie her career to the casket match concept, defeating Blake Monroe in another casket match in April 2026. Choo, meanwhile, has moved on from their NXT feud.

Tatum Paxley Calls Blake Monroe Her Wrestling Soulmate

Speaking on The Mark Moses Show, Paxley opened up about her connection with former rival Blake Monroe, saying she knew she had to work with her the moment Monroe arrived in NXT. She called Monroe her wrestling soulmate.

“She’s one of those people that, the second she stepped foot into NXT, I was like ‘I have to have interactions with this girl’,” Paxley said. “Something with me and Blake, we know ourselves so well, and something I really appreciated, aside from the words we had to say with each other, we had this amazing eye contact that I don’t really feel like I get with a lot of people.

“Any time I’m on stage, talking with my heart, sometimes people tend to look around, look at the audience, her and I were so locked in on each other and meant and felt everything we were saying, so I have like a really great connection with her from that promo, I just remember staring at her and we were not looking away. We were locked in on each other, and that was really cool,” Paxley said.

“Getting to do things with her, any time I stepped away from it I was like ‘this feels right’. She might be my wrestling soulmate, I’m not sure,” Paxley added.
