Will Ospreay finished Ricochet with PAC’s Black Arrow on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite tribute show in Pittsburgh, and the move landed hours after Tony Schiavone said it should be retired in PAC’s honor.
The AEW World Champion and Ricochet, two close friends of PAC, had been paired for the tribute by Tony Khan. Before the bell they took a knee and embraced, and Ricochet shared a moment with referee Bryce Remsburg.
Ricochet hit a Phoenix Splash and a Shooting Star Press, and Ospreay answered with a Styles Clash. Ospreay then hit the Hidden Blade, looked up at the top turnbuckle, climbed, and delivered the Black Arrow for the pin. It was a non-title match.
Ospreay was in tears afterward and hugged Andrade El Idolo, Francesco Akira and Mike Bailey. He and Ricochet then embraced in the middle of the ring, United Empire and The Demand hugged, and Ospreay pointed to the sky.
Both men also appeared in tribute videos. Ospreay said watching PAC’s matches as a teenager gave him hope he could walk the same road, and that wrestling him in 2019 was something he had chased. Ricochet called PAC his big brother and said it felt like he had lost a brother.
