Flip Gordon has spent much of his life balancing two demanding careers, and now he is preparing to take on both once again.
Gordon is a professional wrestler currently working for CMLL, where he is known as “El Super Soldado del CMLL.” He has also built an international career across Mexico, Japan, the United States, and the independent wrestling scene.
On September 17, 2026, Gordon revealed that he has officially reenlisted in the Army National Guard, returning to military service years after completing his original enlistment. However, he was quick to make one thing clear: this does not mean the end of his wrestling career.
Before wrestling became his full-time profession, Gordon spent six years in the Army National Guard while pursuing professional wrestling. He served as a combat engineer and completed his original military commitment in 2018.
Now, after 11 years of traveling the world as a wrestler, Gordon explained on X that he felt there was still something unfinished from that chapter of his life.
Gordon’s military background has also become an important part of his wrestling identity. CMLL has embraced that history by presenting him as the “El Super Soldado del CMLL,” while his Mexico career has become a major part of his international journey.
That journey has included CMLL’s 2024 International Grand Prix, where Gordon represented Team World alongside Claudio Castagnoli, Kyle Fletcher, and Rocky Romero.
Before establishing himself in Mexico, Gordon made his mark in Ring of Honor and at the original All In. At that event, he disguised himself as Chico El Luchador and won the battle royal, earning an ROH World Championship opportunity later that night.
Now, Gordon is returning to military service while keeping the door open for another chapter in professional wrestling. He has specifically promised to return to the ring, return to Mexico, and continue representing CMLL once his military responsibilities allow it.
