WWE Hall of Famer Fred Ottman has shared some encouraging news with fans after his latest health scare, confirming that he has been released from the hospital.
Ottman, best known to wrestling fans as Typhoon, Tugboat and The Shockmaster, was admitted to the hospital last week after initially being taken to the emergency room.
The latest medical issue forced the 70-year-old to cancel a scheduled appearance at the SWFL Super Card Show in Fort Myers, Florida.
In a new update shared on Instagram, Ottman revealed that doctors have allowed him to return home. However, his medical team is still trying to determine exactly what is going on.
They’ve released me from the hospital, okay? They’ve still got a lot more stuff to investigate and get me along the way better, and I can’t go into any detail.
Ottman chose not to provide specifics about his condition. He did show fans his bruised and discolored arm while explaining that both his orthopedic doctor and primary doctor remain involved in his care. Despite the uncertainty, Ottman stressed that he is feeling better.
Look at the colors. Look at there. Oh boy. But they’re still investigating some things and seeing what’s going on. My orthopedic doctor and my primary doctor are taking care of me, and I’m just letting you know I’m better.
The wrestling veteran also thanked everyone who has sent messages, prayers and well wishes during another difficult stretch with his health. He described 2026 as a “rough year” but maintained his sense of humor while giving the update.
I’m only a little ugly, not a lot of ugly. But God bless you, and thank you to all the people keeping me in their thoughts and prayers. It’s been a rough year.
