Big E’s recent appearance on WWE Raw may have reignited fans’ hopes of seeing him return to the ring, but the former WWE Champion has yet to be medically cleared for in-ring competition. Speaking on The Mike Broomhead Show, Big E provided an update on his health, more than two years after his career-altering neck injury.
“I still haven’t been cleared. Thankfully, I feel great and don’t have any issues… I’m grateful to have no issues, no pain, nothing like that.”
Big E’s presence on the December 2 episode of Raw saw him attempt to mediate the growing rift between his New Day teammates, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. However, the duo turned on him, accusing Big E of not caring about the faction and ultimately ousting him from the group. While fans are hopeful that Big E will eventually exact revenge in the ring, his return hinges on receiving medical clearance.
Outside the squared circle, Big E has remained an active presence in WWE, contributing to pre-show and post-show panels for Premium Live Events. The former champion has also expressed contentment with the possibility that his in-ring career may be over, hinting at aspirations to serve as a talent scout for the promotion.
Still, fans yearn for Big E to deliver retribution against Kingston and Woods for their betrayal. For now though, that dream remains on hold as Big E continues to wait for the all-clear to return to physical action.
