Details On When WWE NXT Could Be Moving To Bigger Arenas

NXT could be moved away from Full Sail.

As expected, WWE officials are looking to move NXT away from holding weekly television every week at the same location.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there has been a lot of talk about taking NXT on the road each week as WWE officials are looking at running arenas with around 5,000-seat capacities.

Currently, WWE holds NXT TV events in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University.

It was noted that WWE has reached out to some arenas that size to shoot TV, which would be for NXT on Wednesday nights. As of this writing, the current target for NXT airing from bigger arenas looks to be January 2020.

AEW Dynamite Sweeps WWE NXT In Viewership For Week Two

This shouldn’t come as a surprise as since the announcement to air NXT live in order to compete with AEW when they start going head-to-head, there has been speculation as to where WWE will film NXT.

WWE confirmed back in August that the remaining NXT TV events this year would be held at Full Sail.

Some fans thought this was an interesting decision as NXT is held in a 400 seat venue while on the flip side, AEW is airing episodes of their weekly television show that can hold 5,000-10,000 fans.
