FOX Airs Full-Length Commercial For WWE SmackDown Live Debut

The premiere episode of WWE SmackDown Live on the FOX network will be a 20th Anniversary special.

FOX started to air the full-length commercial to promote the move during Sunday’s NFL pre-season game. Now, the promo has surfaced online. It features stars like Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, and Current WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

The October 4th show takes place from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California. This marks the debut episode of SmackDown on the network as the show will start airing it on Friday nights.

WWE has touted that stars past and present will be on hand to celebrate the occasion.

WWE Hall of Famers Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Mark Henry, Ric Flair, and Sting are advertised to appear.

Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker have also been recently advertised.

FOX is paying WWE $1 billion over five years for the rights to SmackDown Live after inking the contract last year with the company. FOX is helping promote the brand during its various sports broadcasts in hopes of increasing ratings when the show gets to the network.

Thus, the company will need to get back on track before October.
