Kurt Angle Reveals When He Decided To Retire, His New WWE Role

WWE Hall of Famer and former Monday Night Raw General Manager Kurt Angle recently did an interview with Sky Sports to promote WrestleMania 35 weekend in New York City.

Angle, who is slated to take on Baron Corbin in his farewell match at WrestleMania 35, revealed some interesting things in this interview.

It turns out that Angle went to Vince McMahon a few months ago to tell him that he wanted to retire this year because of how his body has been feeling.

Angle brought up how he signed a contract to remain with WWE in a backstage role to help the younger talent behind the scenes and will be on the road with the main roster stars to make it up there.

He didn’t rule out being an on-camera talent like a manager or maybe a general manager again. The legendary pro wrestler mentioned that he wants to make this transition as an agent in order to give back to the company.

The former WWE Champion understands that fans don’t want to see Corbin be his final opponent but thinks that it makes sense from a storyline point. He would note that Corbin is one of the most hated heels in the company. He also thinks that Corbin is an up and coming talent in WWE.
