Roderick Strong Victorious In Battle Of Secondary Champions At WWE Survivor Series

In a rare match, WWE had all of the secondary champions from Monday Night RAW, Friday Night SmackDown, and NXT battle it out inside of the squared circle.

At WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Chicago, Illinois at the Allstate Arena on the WWE Network, the promotion did just that when they booked an interesting contest.

The bout had WWE United States Champion AJ Styles vs. NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

These three stars battled it out in a non-title triple threat match that saw Strong win. Now, Strong has the bragging rights for the victory.

This marked the first time that a secondary champion from NXT was featured in a match at Survivor Series, which is considered one of the big four events of the year for WWE along with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam.

It’s been reported by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com that Styles pitched for a matchup between The O.C. and NXT’s Undisputed Era to take place at Survivor Series. However, the idea was shot down.

What are your thoughts on WWE having win the interbrand match at this show? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
