WWE Has Attempted To Oppose Cody Rhodes Over WCW PPV Trademarks

WWE has noticed the recent trademark trend of Cody Rhodes

As of late, Cody Rhodes has been attempting to get the intellectual property rights to the trademarks of previous WCW themes to use in AEW.

In fact, he was able to get the “Bash at the Beach” trademark and then on November 19th, he filed for trademarks on Slamboree and SuperBrawl.

WWE has noticed this and according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has tried to oppose some of the trademarks that Cody was attempting to gain the rights to.

It was noted in the report that the exact trademarks that WWE is opposing aren’t known. Rhodes has been trying to get the trademark rights for the themes that were ideas of his father, Dusty Rhodes.

Some of the trademarks that he has or trying to get include SuperBrawl, Slamboree, The Match Beyond, Bash at the Beach, Dusty Rhodes, The American Nightmare, The Prince of Wrestling, Bunkhouse Stampede, Battlebowl, The American Dream.

AEW will air the January 15th episode of AEW Dynamite live on TNT with a special Bash At The Beach theme from Miami, Florida at the Watsco Center at the University of Miami.
