WWE RAW Remains Under 2 Million Viewers For New Year’s Eve Episode

Monday’s edition of WWE RAW from in Detroit, MI at the Little Caesars Arena averaged 1.968 million viewers, up from 1.775 million the previous week. Here is the hourly viewership breakdown, courtesy of ShowbuzzDaily:

8 pm – 2.035 million
9 pm – 2.026 million
10 pm – 1.843 million

The episode was expected to draw poor viewership due to it falling on New Year’s Eve and being pre-taped. Some of the matches that took place include Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler in a steel cage, Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley, WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose, defending the title against Apollo Crews, Bayley, Sasha Banks and Ember Moon vs. The Riott Squad, and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Natalya vs. Tamina Snuka and Nia Jax.

WWE also hyped the Royal Rumble and the matches taking place at that show. WWE will attempt to keep rebound its viewership for RAW next week, which could be an easier task with it not falling on a holiday and airing live but they will have to go up against the College Football Playoff National Championship game. In case you missed the show, you can check out the four takeaways here.

The show had to go up against ESPN which was averaging 5.142 million viewers for the NC State vs. Texas A&M game.
