Ex-WWE Star Aliyah Makes In-Ring Return After Two-Year Hiatus

0

In September 2023, Aliyah was released from WWE, ending a lengthy tenure with the promotion that had begun back in 2015. Now working under her real name of Nhooph Al-Areebi, she has made her in-ring comeback at a Destiny Wrestling event in Canada, marking her first match since September 2022.

Al-Areebi’s return to the ring didn’t just see her in action, but she also emerged victorious in an over-the-top-rope battle royal. On Instagram, Aliyah shared some footage from her first match back, writing “What a time to be alive ?.”

Al-Areebi’s preceding match came a year before she was released by WWE during the September 12, 2022, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw. That match saw Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez lose the Women’s Tag Team Championships to Damage CTRL (IYO SKY and Dakota Kai) ending Aliyah’s first and only title reign in WWE at 13 days. Aliyah was dealing with injuries during her reign and she’d never return to TV after the title loss.

As Aliyah, Al-Areebi worked against some of WWE’s top names, and holds the record for WWE’s shortest match when she beat Natalya in 3.17 seconds. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on Al-Areebi now that she’s made her return to the squared circle.

Liv Morgan Sets Sights On AJ Lee For WWE SummerSlam In New Jersey

0

As WWE Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan is one of WWE’s most featured performers and appears each week with Dominik Mysterio by her side. Next year, WWE SummerSlam 2025 will come to Morgan’s homestate of New Jersey, and the Judgment Day member has a dream match in mind.

While speaking during a Fanatics Fest autograph session over WWE Bad Blood weekend, Liv was about her dream match for SummerSlam and hopes to step in the ring with AJ Lee.

”My dream match for SummerSlam in New Jersey is myself and Daddy Dom vs. CM Punk and AJ Lee. We’re two Jersey girls, Dominik hates CM Punk and I think that could be [a great match.]”

Dominik certainly has his reasons for being opposed to CM Punk, as the Best in the World defeated Mysterio twice in December 2023, the first WWE matches for Punk since returning to the promotion. Punk recently put Mysterio’s name forward as one of the stars he plans to face after his feud with Drew McIntyre is finished.

WWE’s Roster Wants AJ Lee

Morgan isn’t the only Superstar eager to see AJ Lee return as Cora Jade and Bayley recently shared their support for the idea on X. Lee, who hasn’t competed since the March 30, 2015, edition of WWE Raw, had the following to say.

CM Punk has said he’d love to see his wife return to WWE, but he would not force the idea on her as such a choice will be her decision alone. With WWE SummerSlam 2025 set to be a two-night event in East Rutherford, the promotion will be needing a stacked card to fill both nights of the show. Stay tuned to SEScoops to see whether AJ Lee is part of that card as Liv Morgan hopes.

AJ Styles Legitimately Injured, Undergoing MRI

0

The October 4 episode of WWE SmackDown was filled with significant moments, including the much-anticipated return of AJ Styles after months off of TV. Unfortunately, his return to television was marred by a setback during the show’s opening match with Carmelo Hayes.

Hayes initially declined the offer from the man he called an “old-timer” but accepted the bout when WWE United States Champion LA Knight offered him a title match if he could defeat the Phenomenal One. Styles suffered an injury mid-match, causing it to be called off, with Hayes being declared the winner.

AJ Styles’ injury is legitimate, despite hopes that it was just a storyline. He’s scheduled to undergo an MRI this week to assess the severity of the injury, according to Dave Meltzer.

It appears this is the moment Styles was hurt:

https://x.com/big_business_/status/1842363398853415303?s=46

While Hayes got the win, he won’t be facing Knight for the United States title just yet. During SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis said that he would not grant the title match due to the nature of Hayes’ win, and that his focus was on Styles and his health.

Styles addressed his situation on social media:

We’re wishing AJ Styles a speedy recovery.

This marked the second injury WWE faced last week, as Braun Strowman also suffered a groin tear during his Last Monster Standing match on Raw.

Rhea Ripley Teases a Showdown with DELTA Ahead of WWE NXT Debut

0

As one of the biggest stars in WWE, Rhea Ripley has worked with some of the company’s top names from Becky Lynch to Charlotte Flair, to Asuka. Now, Ripley is excited about the arrival of her fellow Australian wrestler DELTA who is coming to NXT.

On a recent episode of UpUpDownDown, Ripley revealed that DELTA is at the top of her list of competitors she’s eager to face.

“I mean, I feel like I have to say DELTA. I haven’t stepped in the ring with her, and she came after my time in Australia, so I think it’d be cool to meet up in NXT.”

DELTA has yet to officially debut for WWE, but a vignette teasing her arrival aired on this week’s episode of NXT on The CW. Her debut is expected at NXT Halloween Havoc later this month given that the vignette had the numbers 10 and 27, a nod to the show’s date of October 27. DELTA tried out for WWE earlier this year during the Elimination Chamber weekend festivities in Perth, Australia.

As for Ripley, she failed to regain the Women’s World Championship at WWE Bad Blood from her rival Liv Morgan. The interference of the returning Raquel Rodriguez meant that while Ripley won the match by disqualification, it was Morgan who left Atlanta with the gold. This latest twist suggests the Ripley-Morgan rivalry will continue, with Ripley now having to deal with Rodriguez as she aims to reclaim the title.

Pro Wrestling x NFL Weekly Round Up: (Week 5)

0

For the rest of the NFL season, I’ll be doing a pro football round-up and how the pro wrestling world collides with the stars and teams of the National Football League.

Week 5 of the NFL didn’t have any appearances from WWE talent, but there happened to be a big moment for a former NFL player and WWE Hall of Famer. Plus, the Houston Texans just might be studying some NXT tape. Let’s get to it.

Atlanta Falcons’ Bill Goldberg Almost Gets Physical With GUNTHER

Goldberg shocked the wrestling world when he was shown sitting at ringside for WWE Bad Blood this weekend in Atlanta. Goldberg notoriously played for the Atlanta Falcons before he ultimately made the move to the squared circle and certainly used that tackling ability to create the most unrivaled pro wrestling spear of all time.

GUNTHER almost became a recipient of one on Saturday night when he interrupted Triple H to mock Goldberg for being a “one trick pony” and not a very good parent. Goldberg got in the ring before Sami Zayn attacked GUNTHER as the two have a WWE World Title match on RAW.

The Houston Texans Channel Roxanne Perez

The Texas love for pro wrestling runs deep and that’s been on display in Houston for the past two weeks. Both Thunder Rosa and Izzy Moreno were making waves before the Texans came out victorious last week and the team may have been taking notes, particularly Neville Hewett. When the Texans were punting to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Hewitt came charging at the punt returner and did his best Roxanne Perez impression by nailing his target with a Pop Roxx.

Richard Holliday tormented by Steelers fans

Richard Holliday certainly deserved his flowers this weekend as he had to deal with a flight that was chock full of Steelers black and gold.  The Steelers are hosting the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football and Holliday was flying into Pittburgh for International Wrestling Cartel’s Super Indy 2024 event that went down on Saturday. The former MLW Tag Team Champion may have been reaching for his AirPods once more as he film himself trapped on the plane while the excited fans chanted the notorious “Here We Go” song; a tune that echoes across the Steel City during the NFL season.

15 years since Ben Roethlisberger joined WWE RAW

While Holliday cleared his ears from Steeler chants on Saturday, October 5 marked 15 years to the day when Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers took over WWE Raw as they shared a ring with Chris Jericho, The Big Show, Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Ben and his offensive line squared up against JeriShow before the duo bailed.

Wrestling Related Games Win-Loss Record

As of this writing, Dallas and Pittsburgh are currently embroiled in a rainy battle on the gridiron but either way, pro wrestling will walk out with a winning record this week as Goldberg’s Falcons got the W against the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football and the Texans beat the Bills after showing off some Roxanne Perez moves. That’s two wins, zero losses.

After two weeks, wrestling related NFL stories stand at 8-5.

WWE Raw Returns to 2-Hours, GUNTHER & Jey Uso Defend Titles

0

This week’s WWE Raw broadcasts live on the USA Network at 8/7c from St. Louis, Missouri at the Enterprise Center.

Programming Note: WWE Raw reverts to a 2-hour format this week through the remainder of the year.

Following Saturday’s Bad Blood event, WWE presents a stacked card including the World Heavyweight and Intercontinental championships on the line.

Confirmed Matches for 10/7 Episode:

  • GUNTHER (c) vs. Sami Zayn: GUNTHER will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
  • Jey Uso (c) vs. Xavier Woods: Jey Uso will defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
  • Pete Dunne vs. Sheamus: The two will face off in a “Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook.”

Plus, Seth “Freakin’” Rollins will appear. Rollins made a surprise return during last week’s Last Monster Standing main event.

We’ll update this article if any additional matches are announced.

Sami Zayn Vows To Become World Champion After WWE Bad Blood Brawl

0

Sami Zayn is determined to claim the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by dethroning Gunther.

At WWE Bad Blood PLE, Triple H announced the WWE Crown Jewel Championship matches for the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel PLE in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and during the segment, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther made his way into the ring. He took shots at WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg during the segment. However, the segment ended in chaos as Zayn emerged and attacked Gunther.

In a WWE Bad Blood Exclusive, Sami Zayn said that the time for trash talk was over. While he admires the champ, Zayn highlighted his opponent’s ‘crazy’ self-belief that he could beat Zayn. He said:

“Gunther, you and I have talked a lot of trash by now, right? But I want you to know, I really do admire you. I admire you in so many ways. Your self-belief, it’s crazy. It’s unmatched. I mean, tonight, Triple H walks out there, and he talks about how Crown Jewel will see the WWE Champion take on the World Heavyweight Champion, and you don’t even think twice? You just stroll out there, like it’s a foregone conclusion that this Monday, you’re gonna retain your championship, you’re gonna beat me, and you’re gonna go on and take that championship at Saudi Arabia. The self-belief, it’s incredible.”

Sami Zayn had dethroned Gunther off the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 40 and he will try to repeat the outcome this time around as well. The former Intercontinental Champion said that things might not go as per the plans of Gunther and Zayn will be the reason behind it again. He added:

“The thing is, I kind of don’t know where it comes from. Because the last time, if I remember that you and I faced each other in the ring at WrestleMania, you were pretty sure of yourself that time, too. You were so sure that you flew your father halfway across the world to come see you win, but what happened? Change of plans, right? Yet you still have this self-belief. It’s amazing. But here’s the thing, the time for trash talk is over. We have the match. This Monday, it’s done. Sami Zayn versus Gunther part two happens again, this time for the World Heavyweight Championship. Gunther, I’m changing your plans again because I will become the World Heavyweight Champion.”

Gunther’s reign as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion has been incredible. However, Sami Zayn looks determined to end his title run. After weeks of rejection, Gunther finally accepted Zayn’s challenge for the title match on this week’s WWE Raw. However, that came after he assaulted his challenger.

DDP Inks WWE Legends Deal Following Bad Blood Appearance

0

WWE is once again going to “feel the bang” as DDP has signed a legends deal with the company. Cody Rhodes’ ‘Nightmare Family’ crew is finding themselves into the WWE fold as ‘The Master Of The Diamond Cutter’ announced via social media that he put pen to paper on a WWE legends deal.

Dallas was a prominent presence last night at WWE Bad Blood as he was shown hanging out in a “Superstar” suite before they showed the WWE Hall of Famer sitting at ringside for the PLE alongside several other legends including Mickie James and Scott Steiner. A former rival Goldberg nearly got physical with WWE World Champion GUNTHER as well.

Page kept his ties to Cody Rhodes all the way back at the Royal Rumble earlier this year when Dallas sat in the post-show media scrum for Cody after ‘The American Nightmare’ won the 30-man match.

Despite his kindship with Cody, Page has his ties all over the mainstream wrestling world as WCW’s “People’s Champion” is proactive in the wellness of both legends and modern talent alike. Dallas has notoriously helped names like Jake Roberts and Scott Hall on their roads to sobriety in addition to helping current stars bounce back like Drew McIntyre, Darby Allin and Big Bill.

Another ‘Nightmare Family’ name who was in attendance for WWE Bad Blood was WWE Hall Of Famer Arn Anderson who has been a prominent presence at the side of Rhodes both in AEW and WWE. On the latest episode of “ARN”, ‘The Enforcer’ revealed that as of that recording, he was not under a legends deal with WWE, but it remains to be seen if he signed a deal while in Atlanta this past Saturday.

Triple H Comments On Goldberg’s Future After WWE Bad Blood Appearance

0

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H recently addressed speculation over WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg returning to in-ring action.

At last night’s WWE Bad Blood PLE, Triple H announced the WWE Crown Jewel Championship matches for the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther made his way into the ring and took shots at Goldberg, who was in attendance for the show.

Apart from several other shots, ‘The Ring General’ called him one-trick pony and provoked him. Goldberg stepped over the barricade and teased a potential brawl. However, the security stopped him. Gunther’s challenger Sami Zayn arrived and attacked the champ to end the segment.

During the post-show Press Conference, Triple H was asked about the possibility of Goldberg returning to the ring for a match. ‘The Game’ said that time catches up with everyone and chances of stepping foot in the ring become slim. However, he believes in the popular saying, ‘never say never’ in WWE.

“Atlanta loves Bill Goldberg and that’s why he was here tonight with his wife and his son. Always going to get a huge reaction enjoying the show. Things get said. I can tell you when Bill came back, he was not too happy with Gunther. We’ll see. The further you go, time catches up with all of us, right? The further you go, those talks get further and further away from reality. I saw Bill earlier in the day and it was great. I saw Bill later in the day and there was a different look on his face with a spark in his eye. I would say never say never.”

Goldberg has had multiple runs with WWE during his career. His initial run was a brief one from 2003 to 2004. He then returned in 2016 and had a feud with Brock Lesnar. He also captured the WWE Universal Championship during the run. He was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The 57-year-old wrestler fought his last match for WWE at Elimination Chamber 2022 when he lost to Roman Reigns. It is to be seen if Goldberg decides to step inside the ring again.

Triple H Asked About Raw’s Length On Netflix

0

Triple H says the length of Raw on Netflix is not fixed and they’re still working out the details of what the company’s flagship show will look like on the streaming platform.

The Red Branded Show is set to revert back to two hours after 12 years this coming Monday. The show will continue with the format for its final three months on USA Network before moving to the streaming giant in January next year.

The WWE Chief Content officer was asked about this change and what to expect from the show when it crosses over to Netflix during the Bad Blood post-show. Triple H joked that he’ll let us know as soon as he finds out himself, before explaining that they’re still working on the finer details:

“When we get to Netflix, we are still working through all of that. So I think the truth is, you guys will have to watch and see and I am gonna wait and see, but we will deal with it.”

We Are Making A Movie Every Week: Triple H

Triple H also advised people to not get too caught up in details like this. He explained that their approach while booking shows is to figure out the stories they wanna tell first and worry about the rest later:

“The truth is, no matter what the length of time is, it’s just about putting out the best product we can, telling the best possible stories we can. At the end of the day, that is what this is all about – telling stories. Sometimes in our business, we get so caught up in two hour – three-hour, one-hour, this [that]…the movie is the movie.

When the movie is over, it was either really good, or it was not good, or too long, or too short. Whatever it is. But we are just making a movie every week, twice a week, three times a week, actually, with more to come. We kind of approach it in that matter. Let’s write the best stories and then we’ll try to figure out how to jam it into whatever timeslot we have available.”

Apart from this, Triple H answered questions regarding The Rock’s return to WWE programming during Bad Blood and the lack of Black representation on WWE PLEs. You can check out the full PPV post-show below:

Watch: Alexa Bliss Provides Voiceover For Netflix’s ‘The Queen of Villains’ In BTS Video

0

It’s been close to two years since WWE fans last saw Alexa Bliss in the ring, but the former Women’s Champion has kept busy during her time away. In September, it was announced that Bliss would provide her voice to the English dub of Netflix’s The Queen of Villains, and now fans have been able to see the Goddess in action.

Bliss voices Maki Ueda in the new series, a trailblazer in Joshi wrestling who is known for her tag team with Jackie Sato as Beauty Pair. Ueda was the first woman in AJW to hold the WWWA World Singles Championship, the WWWA Tag Team Championship, and the Hawaiian-Pacific/All-Pacific titles.

The Queen Of Villains

The Queen of Villains tells the story of professional female wrestler Dump Matsumoto, who achieved fame in the 1980s. After failing to make it as a babyface, Matsumoto transformed her wrestling persona into a vile heel that riled up Japan for years during her heyday.

Alexa Bliss and WWE

The Goddess hasn’t appeared for WWE since the 2023 Royal Rumble when she challenged then-Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. While a post-match segment teased a program with Bliss and Uncle Howdy, Alexa would later become pregnant and after giving birth that same year, has yet to return to TV.

In July of this year, Bliss hit her signature Twisted Bliss move in a training video, fueling speculation that a return could be around the corner. Many have speculated that Bliss could be involved with the Wyatt Sicks, either as an adversary or as the group’s newest member. With Bliss’ doll Lily recently being spotted on WWE TV, rumors that her return is imminent have only continued to grow, though Bliss herself has yet to give any concrete news on her return.

WWE fans are eager to see Alexa Bliss back, but in the meantime, they can catch her vocal skills in Netflix’s The Queen of Villains. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Alexa Bliss and her role in and outside of a WWE ring.

Damian Priest Comments On His Future After Bad Blood Victory

0

Damian Priest might be looking to become a champion again after his big Bad Blood 2024 victory against Finn Balor.

The PPV match between the two rivals saw Carlito and JD McDonagh trying to help their Judgment Day teammate. Priest managed to outsmart the two in the end and picked up the victory with a South of Heaven.

The former World champion took part in the post-show press conference after the latest PLE where he was asked if he is done with Judgment Day and if he sees himself pursuing the world title again after this victory. Priest said that it’s something he’s gonna think about on his day off on Sunday:

“That’s something I have to think about. Obviously, today felt good. To get that win, beat the man that I said was gonna regret everything he did. I feel like I accomplished that. Am I done with the Judgment Day? I don’t think so, but who doesn’t want to be the champion?

That is something I’m going to have to think about, something I’m gonna have to consider. I have [a day] off tomorrow. So that’s what I’ll be considering, and come Monday, you’ll probably get my answer.”

The Ring General is the one who dethroned Priest at SummerSlam with some help from Finn Balor. So a rematch between the two would make sense.

Gunther is currently scheduled to defend his title against Sami Zayn on Monday’s Raw from Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. After his remark, it’s possible that Damian Priest will be watching this encounter very closely.

Oba Femi Makes History, Now The Longest Reigning WWE NXT North American Champion

0

Since arriving in WWE, Oba Femi has been a force to be reckoned with as the Nigerian uses his size and strength to dominate in the ring. This week, Femi added a huge accolade to his resume by becoming the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion.

Femi has surpassed Wes Lee, who held the gold for 269 days from NXT Halloween Havoc 2022 to the July 18, 2023, edition of WWE NXT, where he lost the gold to ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio. Femi’s own reign began on the January 9, 2024, edition of WWE NXT, where he cashed in his NXT Breakout Tournament victory to earn a match with then-champion Dragon Lee.

Femi’s reign has seen him retain against both Wes Lee and Dragon Lee, as well as NXT regulars like Duke Hudson, Joe Coffey, Brooks Jensen, and Lexis King. Not only satisfied with the NXT roster, Femi has also retained against main roster talent including Viking Raider Ivar and Alpha Academy’s Otis.

Oba Femi’s push so far in NXT has shown that WWE’s creative team is firmly behind the Nigerian star, whose future with the promotion, both in NXT and on the main roster, looks incredibly bright. On the upcoming WWE NXT in St. Louis, Femi will defend his title against Tony D’Angelo, the man Femi bested at NXT No Mercy last month.

Will Femi continue his historic reign with another victory over D’Angelo, or will The Don finally overcome the man who has continued to have the number of him and his family? Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from WWE NXT and the record-breaking reign of the NXT North American Champion.

Reason For Awkward Finish To Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley Bad Blood Match

0

The awkward finish of Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley Women’s Championship match at Bad Blood was seemingly the result of an audible called during the bout.

According to Fightful Select, the original plan for the bout was Liv winning the match with help from a returning Raquel Rodriguez. Things went into disarray when the referee called for the bell before that:

“It was implied that the original finish to Rhea vs. Liv was Liv winning with Raquel’s help. However the referee couldn’t justify not doing a DQ finish as he saw everything unfold.”

Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan

The shark cage match at Bad Blood saw Dominik Mysterio being suspended in a cage at the ringside while Rhea and Liv battled inside the squared circle.

Prison Dom managed to pickpocket the lock and opened the cage door towards the ending of the match. While the door was open, Mysterio had nowhere to go because of his fear of heights.

Ripley took advantage of the situation and brought Liv outside to punish her right in front of Dom’s eyes. After a while, Dom couldn’t take it anymore and he tried to get out. Unfortunately for the 27-year-old, he forgot about the chain securing his leg to the cage and he found himself hanging in the air.

Rhea Ripley took the opportunity to get her revenge on her ex, and she picked up a kendo stick to punish Dominik. This is when Raquel Rodriguez made her return and she blindsided Rhea.

Raquel then threw Ripley back into the ring and after an awkward pause, the bell rang to signal the end of the bout. Rodriguez unsure of what to do after the sudden change in plans, still put Liv on top of Ripley for the pin but then picked Morgan up.

Rodriguez had been diagnosed with Mast cell activation syndrome in January this year. She competed at the Elimination Chamber in February despite her condition but was pulled from the active roster in March.

Drew McIntyre ‘Banged Up’ Coming Out Of Brutal Bad Blood Match

0

Drew McIntyre was understandably banged up after his brutal Hell In A Cell match at tonight’s Bad Blood PPV from Atlanta Georgia.

One of the spots in the grueling match featured Punk bashing McIntyre with the metal toolbox that the Scottish Psychopath himself had introduced in the bout.

Drew was legitimately busted open from this spot and according to PWinsider, the former World Champion required as many as 16 staples to close the wound after the show.

The site says McIntyre was ‘banged up’ coming out of the PLE but they didn’t confirm if he suffered any other injuries besides the obvious one tonight.

What Happened At Bad Blood

Things didn’t turn out as Drew McIntyre would have hoped at the PPV. The ending of the brutal match saw Punk wrapping a chain around his thigh and following it up with a GTS on his opponent for the win.

The year-long feud between the arch-rivals is believed to be over after tonight’s PPV. It’s unknown what the Triple H regime has in store for either of these stars after the Hell In A Cell match.

While the future of Punk and McIntyre is in question, there are some other major storylines that have been teased at and after tonight’s show.

Apart from an appearance of Goldberg in a segment featuring the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, the show also saw the electrifying return of the Rock. If all this wasn’t enough, WWE also pulled the plug on a long-teased heel turn, after the Bad Blood broadcast was over. You can check out more about it here.

Watch: What Happened With Cody Rhodes After Bad Blood 2024 Went Off Air

0

Cody Rhodes just made Triple H and Nick Khan’s job harder by adding another name to the list of potential cities in line to host a WrestleMania.

The Undisputed WWE Champion picked up a big win in the main event of tonight’s Bad Blood PPV from State Farm Arena in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. With some help from a returning Jimmy Uso, the team of Rhodes and Roman Reigns defeated The Bloodline.

The original Tribal Chief and his cousin left the ring after the PPV went off the air but as always, Cody stayed around to greet the fans. Before that, he cut a promo about his hometown and advocated for the city to get a bigger event after they set a new record for WWE in Atlanta:

“You heard the statistics about how many people, you heard that we set a business record for WWE. We did that here. We did that in Atlanta. I don’t know anything, I’m not a manager or anything like that, but I would wager that after a night like tonight, somehow something even bigger than Bad Blood comes to Atlanta.”

Cody Rhodes also talked about growing up in the area and said that people would never know how much it means to him that a cocky kid from the South holds the biggest prize in the business.

Not everything worked out in favor of the American Nightmare tonight, however. Apart from the electrifying return of an old rival, Cody also had to suffer betrayal at the hands of a longtime friend after Bad Blood.

Triple H: The Rock Can Do What He Wants, We’re Grateful to Have Him

0

In the closing moments of WWE Bad Blood 2024, The Rock returned to WWE, fulfilling a promise to come for Cody Rhodes made on the post-WrestleMania 40 episode of Raw. As a leading man in Hollywood with multiple business ventures to his name, The Rock’s WWE appearances are few and far between, but when can fans next expect to see The Final Boss?

On the WWE Bad Blood 2024 post-show press conference, WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque was asked about The Rock and his potential future appearances.

“The Rock’s The Rock, and he’s going to be able to do, whether we were on the air, off the air, still rolling cameras, not rolling cameras, he kinda does what he wants to do when he wants to do it. That’s the cool thing about being the Final Boss, I think. He’s The Rock; he can do what he wants to do.”

Levesque also shared his gratitude to The Rock for making time for WWE within his busy schedule and for remembering where his media dominance first began.

“With everything he’s got going on in his career and his life, to never have looked away from what brought him to the dance [is admirable.] Any time that we’re at a place where he can take 30 seconds out of his incredible schedule to come back and feel that electricity that you can only get in WWE, he does it and I’m thrilled for that and thankful to him for that.”

There are expectations that The Rock will be featured in the run-up to WrestleMania 41, as plans are reportedly in place for the Final Boss to compete next April. In the meantime, fans will have to keep their eyes peeled for The Final Boss as his issues with Cody Rhodes are clearly far from over.

Triple H Addresses Black Representation On WWE PLEs

0

Triple H made clear that he doesn’t look at talent by race nor gender when booking main event matches for WWE.

Paul Levesque fielded questions in the WWE Bad Blood post-show press conference and was asked about WWE not having black male wrestlers not being in a main event program since 2023 or black talent not appearing on the card at WWE Bad Blood. WWE’s Chief Content Officer gave the media perspective on how he lays out a PLE card.

“I don’t see the difference in anybody. I don’t see the color, I don’t see the nationality, I don’t see any of it, I see talent. I don’t see the difference between men and women. I see talent. We tell stories with those talent, how they can handle those stories and how they can represent those stories and how we can bring those stories forward so I don’t keep track of any of that. I do what’s relevant and what is best and the best in storytelling and what’s being delivered the best and then that’s what goes … whatever the biggest stories are, that’s where we go.”

While no black talent were on the card for WWE Bad Blood, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair and Naomi all played hosts to the PLE festivities as WWE kicked off a five-match show in Atlanta. A great deal of WWE’s lack of black representation came to light after Swerve Strickland made comments about WWE, stating how he believed company officials didn’t like to see black talent get paid big money.

Kevin Owens Snaps, Attacks Cody Rhodes In Parking Lot After WWE Bad Blood

WWE Bad Blood 2024 went off the air with Cody Rhodes standing tall, but the Undisputed WWE Champion was left reeling after the PLE. In the main event, Rhodes and Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu, thanks to an assist from the returning Jimmy Uso. In the closing moments of the show, The Rock returned and stared down Reigns, Rhodes, and Uso from the entrance ramp.

In fan-recorded footage from Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, Rhodes and Owens can be seen having heated words before Owens strikes the Undisputed WWE Champion. Not finished, the Prizefighter pummelled Rhodes outside the latter’s tour bus before security intervened.

Tensions had been growing between Rhodes and Owens for weeks on WWE SmackDown, with the Canadian taking issue with Rhodes’ willingness to team with Roman Reigns. Owens has his own painful history with Reigns, including defeats to the Original Tribal Chief at the Royal Rumble in both 2021 and 2023.

Owens challenged Rhodes for the gold at WWE Bash in Berlin, and much was said about their friendship and Owens’ lack of championship gold as of late in the run-up to their showdown in Germany. With Owens betraying his former friend, Rhodes now has another adversary to deal with on SmackDown. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the fallout of this attack.

The Rock Speaks On Instagram After WWE Bad Blood

The Rock was full of “mana” after making a surprise appearance to close out WWE Bad Blood in Atlanta and ‘The People’s Champion’ spoke after the PLE.

Dwayne Johnson went live on his Instagram after shocking Atlanta by walking out to stare down Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns after the two got a victory against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

The Rock was strutting his stuff backstage at WWE but did note the following:

““The final boss is feeling a lot of things and there’s a bunch of s*** that’s been going on in the past six months.”

Johnson was also walking past production trucks and more while he saw plenty of familiar faces plastered on said trucks. The first one he took note of was Steve Austin, noting that he’d want to enjoy a tequila and beer with the ‘Texas Rattlesnake.’ He then also saw a picture of John Cena and made the Fruity Pebbles reference after seeing a picture of Dusty Rhodes. The Rock had some quick words for the late ‘The American Dream.’

“I love you, I hate your son.”

The Rock began jamming to ZZ Top as he walked to his vehicle and drove off. Johnson was last seen on WWE programming on the WWE Raw after WrestleMania where he and Cody Rhodes “traded” titles before The Rock handed Cody something and whispered something to him.

Johnson wasn’t the only one to make a return at Bad Blood. Jimmy Uso made a surprise return in an effort to help Reigns and Rhodes secure the win against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

WWE Bad Blood 2024 went off the air in electrifying fashion with the return of The Rock inside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. In the main event of the show, Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns defeated The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu thanks to an assist from the returning Jimmy Uso. After the match, the Bloodline assaulted Rhodes, prompting Jimmy and Reigns to come to the aid of their unlikely ally.

The trio of Rhodes, Reigns, and Uso were able to fend off The Bloodline, with Sikoa, Fatu, Tonga, and Loa escaping through the crowd. It was at this point that The Rock made his return and stared down the three men in the ring.

Rumors of The Rock’s return at Bad Blood had circulated after Pat McAfee spoke of ‘The Big Guy’ returning during an episode of his show with Cody Rhodes. The Rock had teased coming for Rhodes during the post-WrestleMania 40 edition of RAW. Now that The Rock’s back, it remains to be seen what role he’ll play in The Bloodline and their issues with Rhodes, Reigns, and now, Jimmy Uso.
