Charles “2 Cold Scorpio” Scaggs is in jail in Kansas City, Missouri, after admitting in court on Thursday that he brandished a firearm while out on bond, PWInsider first reported.
The former WWF, WCW, and ECW star was taken into custody following an afternoon hearing on September 17. Prosecutors filed a motion last week asking the court to revoke his bond and remand him to jail, and the reason behind that request stayed under wraps until Scaggs acknowledged the gun incident in front of the judge.
The court didn’t soften its ruling. According to court records, the judge found: “Court finds and believes Defendant to be clearly in violation of his bond conditions, and that said violation is a danger to public safety.”
Scaggs now awaits sentencing in custody. That hearing is set for October 9 at 3 p.m. local time.
A Plea Deal Already On The Books
The jailing lands about six weeks after Scaggs pleaded guilty in early August to second-degree assault and armed criminal action. The deal kept the case from going to trial and reduced his original charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
The case dates to the early hours of June 15, 2024, at a Love’s Travel Stop on Ameristar Drive in Kansas City, where Scaggs worked as a security guard. Kansas City police told PWInsider at the time that officers were dispatched at 3:40 a.m. to a reported cutting and found a victim with “numerous cut and stab wounds.”
According to the probable cause statement, the confrontation started when Scaggs told a man to stop smoking inside the store. The two disagreed on who was the aggressor, and Scaggs claimed he acted in self-defense.
Police found the man with stab wounds to his head, chest, buttocks, back of the leg, and abdomen. Scaggs had swelling on the left side of his face, a cut thumb, and scratches, including a large one on his left forearm. The man later told TMZ he didn’t light the cigarette inside and thought he had put it out before walking in, though he allowed that it might not have been fully extinguished.
Back In The Ring Weeks Earlier
All of this unfolded only weeks after Scaggs booked a return match following his guilty plea. SVN Wrestling announced him against MASADA for August 29 in Los Angeles, billed as his first match since August 2025, and Fightful later reported he was back in action that month.
The 60-year-old debuted in 1985 and trained in the New Japan Pro-Wrestling Dojo before runs in WCW, ECW, and the WWF, where he worked as Flash Funk. He’s a former ECW World Television Champion, ECW World Tag Team Champion, and WCW World Tag Team Champion.
