Dani Luna may not be a free agent for much longer, if she still is one.
Fightful Select reports that AEW sources have indicated interest in Luna to Sean Ross Sapp, and implied that if she is not signed already, they expect her to be soon. The outlet was told the word was going around before AEW’s European dates that this was the case, and another source thought she would debut on one of them. That did not happen.
Nothing has been confirmed as signed.
Luna has been available since April, when TNA granted her release at her own request with no bad blood reported on either side. She debuted for the company in 2023 and signed that December, working as part of Subculture alongside Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster before teaming with Jody Threat as Spitfire. The pair won the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship twice and were named Knockouts Tag Team of the Year in 2024.
Somebody in AEW noticed straight away. Will Ospreay posted her name and nothing else on the day her exit became public, which was read as exactly what it looked like. He is the AEW World Champion now.
She has not been busy since. Luna worked Maple Leaf Pro dates over the summer, and she is a former Undisputed British Women’s Champion for RevPro at home in England.
She started early. Luna was on NXT UK at 20 and stayed with the brand from 2019 until it closed. Threat followed her out of TNA in August.
