Baron Corbin walked out to a brand-new entrance on the July 31 SmackDown, and Trick Williams did not let it go unanswered.
WWE gave Corbin an updated presentation ahead of his United States Championship match with Williams tonight at SummerSlam Night 2, swapping in a new theme called “I Cause the Pain” along with red and blue lighting, smoke effects, and video boards flashing the new title alongside his name. It’s part of a broader run of entrance refreshes WWE has rolled out ahead of the show, and reaction online has been split, with some fans praising the new look and others calling the music generic.
Corbin has been building toward this match since his surprise return to SmackDown on July 10. Tonight’s clash with Williams marks his first televised WWE match in nearly two years.
Williams Fires Back
Later in the show, Williams came out to address Corbin directly, joking that his rival had “shaved his head, polished it, and looked like a giant Tommy Pickles.” He challenged Corbin to the ring for a “Trick Slap” before SummerSlam.
Corbin accepted, comparing his SummerSlam gameplan to quicksand. He said he would wear Williams down slowly rather than rush, and warned that the champion’s impatience would cost him the title. Williams shot back by questioning whether Corbin had actually changed since his last WWE run, then closed the segment by promising more than 35,000 fans would be chanting “Whoop That Trick” once the bell rings tonight.
Williams defends the United States Championship against Corbin as part of the six-match Night 2 card, which also includes Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins in the main event.
