Britt Baker has confirmed that she is not retired.
The former AEW Women's Champion briefly spoke to Adam Glyn recently while appearing on the SI Red Carpet. When asked if she was retired from wrestling, Baker replied negatively, saying “I would not say I’m retired, no.”
The AEW star said that she loves that fans still talk about her and told them to keep the chatter up when asked to send them a message. Though Britt Baker later also revealed that she has had to stop working as a full-time dentist because of overzealous fans:
Not full time anymore. As much as I love the wrestling fans, they are a little passionate, sometimes for their own good and my own safety. It got a little carried away sometimes with some scary wrestling fans wanting to come kill me because I’m a bad guy.
Britt Baker is part of a long list of AEW talents who have been kept off TV without any explanation from a long time. Her last match for the promotion came well over a year ago, during a Dynamite episode in November 2024.
One such name who shares the fate of Baker in Deonna Purrazzo recently decided to take matters into her own hands. You can check out what she said about starting to take indie bookings despite potential AEW backlash here.
