CM Punk is returning to NXT with a huge challenge for its top titleholder.
At NXT Halloween Havoc 2026, Grayson Waller successfully retained his NXT Championship against Tony D’Angelo. After that, the host of the night, Danhausen, came out and said that there was a message for Waller.
Just then, CM Punk appeared on the TitanTron and confronted Waller about the dissing he had been doing for weeks. The Best in the World informed him that he would be coming to his show next week to challenge him for the NXT Championship. Punk said:
Grayson Waller, up here bud, pay attention coz you have been running your mouth about me specifically for weeks saying I need to ask you permission to come into your house coz you run NXT. Well, I waited patiently and I wanted to see how you and Tony would shake it out. Now that you’re still NXT Champion, buddy hold on to that belt tight, coz I’m comin, November 4, it is CM Punk vs. Grayson Waller for the NXT title and you say that NXT is your house? Kid, I’m the landlord and Wednesday, the rent is due.
This sets the stage for a blockbuster title match between veteran CM Punk, who will be having his first-ever NXT title match, and rising heel Grayson Waller. Moreover, Punk joins Cody Rhodes and John Cena as top names appearing on the November 4 edition of NXT.
With the title match set, it will be interesting to see if Grayson Waller can back up his words with his actions against The Best in the World.
