Cody Rhodes Fires Warning At Wrestling Media Over His Podcast

Former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently issued a pointed warning to wrestling media: stop clickbaiting his podcast, because it is only going to get worse.

Speaking on his ‘What Do You Wanna Talk About?’ Rhodes made it clear that he and his co-hosts will say whatever they want, regardless of how outlets aggregate or sensationalize the content.

The former Undisputed WWE Champion said outlets have discovered the podcast and turned it into a source of headlines, and he has no intention of softening his approach.

Here’s something that’s happened, and everyone should know this and is responsible for this as well. Wrestling media has discovered this podcast. They like to clickbait it and aggregate it. I would say to them, it’s only gonna get worse.

It’s our podcast, we’re gonna say what we want, and yeah, if I tell a story about a workplace proximity associate or even a friend, I stand by it. Most people are asked, and if not, screw it. So it’s only gonna get worse. So if you guys need to get your news from this, we will do that,” Rhodes said.

The comments read as Rhodes positioning the podcast as an unfiltered platform he can use to speak directly to fans, sidestepping the traditional media pipeline he clearly feels distorts his words.

Cody Rhodes is set to challenge CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Champion at WWE SummerSlam PLE. The two have continued to cross paths on WWE programming, including a tag team bout at Saturday Night’s Main Event, keeping the Rhodes and Punk dynamic front and center heading toward SummerSlam.
