Damian Priest knows when he wants to be done with wrestling.
The former World Champion recently spoke to Chris Distefano for a new interview. He talked about things such as how success doesn’t always come on your own timeline, fans crossing limits, and more.
Damian Priest also talked about the end of his wrestling career and noted that he does not have an ideal retirement age in mind. The 43-year-old, however, suggested that he will be following the footsteps of the likes of John Cena and AJ Styles and call it a career before he turns 50:
I don’t have a number. I don’t have a time, but I know that I’m going to listen to my body. I’ve already — I can tell, you know, it’s just natural that you’re going to start slowing down. I don’t know how much time I have left, but I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. But at the same time, into my 50s, definitely not. Before 50, I would be done.
If That Phone Rings: Damian Priest
Elsewhere in the interview, Damian Priest was asked about the possibility of following The Rock’s footsteps into Hollywood. The WWE star confirmed his interest in a potential acting career, but noted that he would only consider it after he has retired from wrestling:
I mean, look, if that phone rings, I’ll answer it. You know? I mean, why not. But that would have to be also when I’m done with the wrestling thing, like he did. I’ve thought about that as far as a possible future, dabbling in that world. It seems interesting. I love entertainment. I love entertaining people.
Damian Priest has formed a tag team with R-Truth in recent months. The duo defeated The MFT to win the tag team titles at the March 20 episode of SmackDown.
