Damian Priest has turned
Tonight’s episode of SmackDown featured multiple title matches, one of which saw R-Truth and Priest challenging Erik & Ivar of the War Raiders for the AAA World Tag Team Titles.
The ending of the bout saw Truth using the turnbuckles for momentum and delivering a huge AA to Ivar. Erik broke the subsequent pin, and the tag champs then took out Priest when he entered the ring to help his partner. After taking out Damian, the War Raiders used the Ragnarok on Truth to retain the titles.
Damian Priest helped his tag team partner up after the loss and put his sombrero on him. The former World Champion, however, then dropped Truth with a massive clothesline, followed by the South of Heaven.
The heel turn ends the pairing of Priest and Truth that started after this year’s Royal Rumble. The team had a run with the Tag Team Titles that ended at 147 days with The MFTs defeating them during a SmackDown episode last month.
The heel turn opens the door for Damian Priest to return to singles competition and potentially join an already crowded World Title scene that saw a massive development during tonight’s show. You can check out more about it here.
