Lash Legend defeated Giulia in roughly two minutes on the July 31 episode of SmackDown, securing the final spot in the Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match at SummerSlam. She joins Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, and Chelsea Green in the five way match, which was created to crown an interim champion while Rhea Ripley recovers from injury.
The quick finish sparked an immediate reaction online. Giulia trended number one in the Sports category on X, with the hashtag GiuliaDeservesBetter spreading rapidly as fans argued she deserved stronger booking heading into SummerSlam weekend. Giulia addressed the reaction herself, posting, “I’m stubborn as hell. I don’t f***ing quit. I’m tough as nails.” She also thanked fans directly for the support and encouragement she received in the hours following the match.
The timing stings a little more given where Giulia is in her run. She recently returned from a hiatus with a refreshed look, including a new haircut, as part of an effort to reset her character heading into the back half of the year.
For a wrestler working to build momentum on a comeback, a two minute squash on the go home show before a premium live event is a tough break, and one that fans were quick to point out felt like a missed opportunity.
Not everyone framed it the same way. Some fans online noted that neither wrestler drew much of a reaction from the live crowd in Green Bay during the match itself, even as the online conversation exploded afterward, suggesting the moment may say as much about crowd energy on go home shows as it does about the booking decision itself.
