Former WWE and AEW star Jake Hager lost to Johnny Magna in the second round at Power Slap 23 on September 17 via doctor stoppage. He was hit in the eye and started to bleed.

Hager known for his run in WWE and AEW had signed a six-appearance deal with Power Slap earlier this year. He kicked off his run with a third-round knockout win over Devin Jenkins at Power Slap 19 in April. However, he was knocked out by Amanpreet Singh in his next outing at Power Slap 21 in July.

Hager also previously discussed the knockout and his 45-day medical suspension. He compared the limited number of shots a fighter can take to a wrestler’s bump card.

Power Slap 23 marks the promotion’s first show in Texas. The card was main evented by reigning Light Heavyweight Champion Wolverine defending his title against Greenhalgh.
