Liv Morgan isn’t accepting how her WWE Women’s World Championship reign ended, and she’s already coined a name for the controversy.
Morgan broke her silence on social media on September 14, days after losing the title to Stephanie Vaquer at WWE’s September 12 live event in Santiago, Chile. She called it the greatest tragedy in wrestling history and dubbed it “The Santiago screwjob.”

The label isn’t without justification given how the finish played out. Morgan appeared to have the match won after hitting Oblivion and covering Vaquer, but special guest referee Becky Lynch stopped her count at two and flipped Morgan off instead of finishing the pin. Vaquer capitalized on the chaos, hitting the SVB followed by the Vaquer Inferno to win the title in front of her home crowd.
The loss ended Morgan’s reign at 148 days after two successful defenses, including a win over Vaquer just days earlier on the September 7 episode of Raw. Vaquer is now a two-time Women’s World Champion.
However, with Morgan actively campaigning the “screwjob” framing and Becky Lynch squarely in the middle of it, this story looks far from over.
