Santana began his sobriety journey on February 16, 2023, after a years-long battle with addiction that he has opened up about publicly on several occasions. He has previously shared that his struggles intensified following the death of his father in 2020, and that his daughter's heartfelt letter to Santa — in which she expressed concern about his well-being — served as his rock bottom moment and the catalyst for change.?
The milestone comes at the height of Santana's professional career. He captured the TNA World Championship at Bound for Glory, defeating Trick Williams, and has since emerged as one of the top stars in the promotion.
Last November, Santana also celebrated reaching 1,000 days clean and sober, calling himself "living proof of what can happen when you put in the effort."
SEScoops congratulates Mike Santana on this incredible personal achievement.
