Matt Hardy Says Jeff Hardy May Take Time Off For Neck Injury

Matt Hardy says Jeff Hardy may take time off from TNA to address a neck injury that has bothered him for a year, but he stopped short of confirming it.

Matt Hardy says his brother Jeff Hardy may take time away from TNA Wrestling to address a neck injury that has bothered him for about a year.

Speaking with co-host Jon Alba on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt was asked about his next character. “It’s gonna be interesting to see what my next character is, especially if Jeff takes a little time off to try and work on his neck a little bit,” he said. “That may be happening, I guess we’ll see.”

Matt described the problem as a lingering bulging disc rather than the result of any one stunt. “I think he’s done everything he can do in his power,” Matt said, adding that Jeff may step away to try to get it corrected as much as possible. He did not confirm a break, and no timeframe has been given.

Jeff first revealed the injury in January, saying he had been working with two bulging discs on the left side of his neck since The Hardys dropped the NXT Tag Team Championships to DarkState in a Broken Rules match at NXT Halloween Havoc 2025. He said at the time that he was cleared to compete.

According to F4W, Jeff last wrestled at TNA’s TV tapings in Dothan, Alabama, on October 13, where The Hardys beat AJ Francis and Expressions. Two days earlier, The Hardys lost a Falls Count Anywhere match at TNA Bound For Glory in Tampa.

The comments come weeks after TNA gave the team “complete control”.
