Matt Hardy is disputing an online report claiming TNA Wrestling changed its Philadelphia broadcast because LeBron James never showed up.
The report, from FadeAwayMedia, claimed TNA scrapped a planned TNA World Championship match between Nic Nemeth and Jeff Hardy on the July 30 episode of Thursday Night iMPACT after James failed to appear as the show’s invited “Official Title Holder.” Matt Hardy rejected that framing directly on X.
THIS IS NOT TRUE. Jeff vs @NicTNemeth was NEVER advertised for the LIVE #TNAiMPACT. BE BETTER.
What Actually Happened
The Nemeth vs. Hardy world title match was filmed ahead of the live broadcast.
TNA’s promotion had hyped a “Major World Title Match Thursday in Philadelphia”, and the confusion was not helped by Jeff Hardy’s own Thursday morning media appearance alongside Nemeth, where he hyped the match as happening later that night.
The live broadcast itself did not include a Nemeth vs. Hardy world title match. TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella instead booked the matchup going forward during an in-ring segment, while KC Navarro appeared separately to address his own previous TNA World Championship loss to Nemeth.
