Stephanie Vaquer was not at Raw.
The former Women’s Champion was set to make her on-screen in-ring return after an ankle injury during this Monday’s episode of Raw. She was scheduled to face Becky Lynch in a #1 Contender’s match on the show. News came hours before the event, however, that Vaquer was not medically clear for the match.
Adam Pearce then booked Lynch directly into a title match against Liv Morgan at Raw. The bout ended in a disappointing DQ when Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez attacked The Man. Ms. Money In The Bank Tiffany Stratton then came out teasing a cash in, though an appearance from Dominik Mysterio spoiled her plans.
Reason For Stephanie Vaquer’s Absence
Now PWInsider has provided an update on the reason for this sudden change. The site is reporting that Stephanie Vaquer was pulled from the match due to an illness instead of some additional injury.
They confirmed that the female star was not backstage at the Red Branded Show, though the site could not provide a timetable for her return.
Stephanie Vaquer suffered an ankle injury while defending her Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch at the Money In The Bank PPV on October 10. Morgan won the title in the bout.
Vaquer had returned to the ring during the company’s Hawaii tour in mid-October, competing against Morgan and others. There is no word on what WWE creative is planning for her after the latest turn of events. Stay tuned for any update on her status.
