Becky Lynch isn’t afraid to question WWE’s creative decisions, and Sol Ruca says watching her do it has helped her find her own voice backstage.
During an interview with KRON 4, Ruca discussed what she learned while working with Lynch in their Women’s Intercontinental Championship feud. One thing that stayed with her was Lynch’s willingness to speak up when she believes something could be better.
I think she’s really good at questioning creative and really just trying to make everything the best that it can be,” Ruca said.
Ruca explained that Lynch handles those conversations respectfully while keeping the performance and audience in mind. Seeing that approach helped her feel more comfortable raising concerns of her own.
So I definitely learned to be able to stick up for myself a little bit when I disagree with certain things. I think she’s really good at doing that in a respectful way and being able to perform at the best of her ability and just giving the fans what they want.
Her comments offered a glimpse into the work ‘The Man’ puts into shaping what fans see on television. Ruca also praised her ability to make promos and segments her own, particularly her understanding of what will get a reaction from the crowd.
She is one of the greatest of all time for a reason. She is so, so good at what she does. She’s so good at the character work,” she said.
