Sol Ruca has revealed what Triple H told her in the aftermath of her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship loss. Ruca dropped the title to Raquel Rodriguez on the July 27 episode of Raw from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, ending her first reign at 57 days.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Ruca said Triple H came to her right after the match to make clear the title change had nothing to do with her performance.
“Triple H came to me afterwards, after the match, and was just like, ‘Hey, this isn’t because you’re doing anything wrong. You just got to be a babyface and keep going up and just see what the next thing is.'”
Ruca added that the reaction from the rest of the locker room mirrored that message.
“I think everyone has been very, very supportive and really has been in my corner, and it has made me feel really good about it.”
The finish saw Raquel Rodriguez capture the title with an assist from Judgment Day, as Roxanne Perez and Liv Morgan turned the match into a numbers game before Iyo Sky ran down to even the odds. Rodriguez capitalized in the chaos to score the pin.
Ruca won the championship from Becky Lynch on May 31 at Clash in Italy, and had successfully defended it against Lyra Valkyria before dropping it to Rodriguez on the go-home Raw before SummerSlam.
