Stephanie Vaquer’s four-month break following WrestleMania 42 was for recovering from surgery.

Speaking with Rueda en el Ring, Vaquer opened up about how difficult the time away was, describing the period after surgery as the hardest thing she’s ever had to deal with, largely because she couldn’t train.

It was very difficult because coming out of surgery and having to wait without training, that was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life.

She said stepping back into a ring upon her return felt like coming back to life, and framed the break as something her health genuinely required. Now back, she says she’s better than ever and plans to keep pushing with the same discipline she’s always brought to her training.

Not being active in my training, but I when I returned to the ring, and I stepped back into a ring felt like coming back to life for me. It was a needed break for the sake of my health, but I am back better than ever and I’m going to keep going just as always disciplined in my training and showing what I’m made of,” she said.

Vaquer didn’t disclose the specific nature of the injury or the procedure, though she was reportedly dealing with a shoulder issue heading into WrestleMania.

She returned in August, and just days ago captured the WWE Women’s World Championship from Liv Morgan at a live event in her home country of Chile, making the timing of the reveal all the more striking.
