WWE is heading back to Hawaii for the first time in over seven years next month, and according to Paul “Triple H” Levesque, this is just the beginning of a much bigger commitment to the islands.
Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu will host a pair of WWE house shows on October 16-17, with a second date added after strong ticket demand for the first. Advertised talent includes The Usos, Jacob Fatu, Oba Femi, Liv Morgan, Sol Ruca, and Seth Rollins.
Speaking with KHON2 News, Levesque said the response from the roster has been overwhelming, with performers across the company asking to be part of the Hawaii shows.
It’s going to be amazing. We haven’t been there since 2019,” Levesque said. “I can tell you that every superstar in the WWE has been calling asking us to be on this card. They’re chomping at the bit to get there to Hawaii.
He made clear this won’t be a one-time trip, saying WWE intends to make regular appearances in Hawaii going forward and reestablish a consistent presence there.
This is exciting for us, and this isn’t a one-time deal. We’re not just coming there now, we’re going to be coming there on a regular basis. We’re going to make sure that we have our feet back [on] the ground in Hawaii, where they always should’ve been, where our roots are. That’s why we are looking for that next generation too. We want to ensure that the Pacific Islands remain a home for us for years to come.
Levesque tied the decision to WWE’s history in the region, referencing the legacies of The Rock, Peter Maivia, and Don Muraco, and noting how much the current roster, including Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Nia Jax, continues to reflect Pacific Islander influence on the product.
As part of the trip, WWE is also holding a two-day talent tryout at Blaisdell Arena ahead of the house shows, following an earlier recruiting push at a Hawaii fitness expo this summer.
Levesque said athleticism and drive matter, but charisma is what the company is really looking for, someone who stands out rather than blends in.
With a tryout already lined up and more shows reportedly on the way, WWE looks to be treating Hawaii as a long-term priority rather than a nostalgic one-off stop.
