WWE Crown Jewel has a new home. The ticket listing for the Saturday, November 7 premium live event now names The Venue, also known as ANB Arena, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the host building.
That’s the same indoor arena staging Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight title this Saturday, October 31. Neither WWE nor Riyadh Season has issued a formal statement naming the venue, but the listing itself has been updated, according to the Wrestling Observer.
The change comes two days after Riyadh Season pulled the show from Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD, the temporary outdoor stadium in the King Abdullah Financial District that hosted the Royal Rumble in January. In a post on X, the organizer said all ticket holders would receive a full refund and that “tickets will be re-released to everyone within the next 48 hours.” That post gave no reason for the Crown Jewel relocation away from KAFD.
Why an indoor arena matters
The Venue is smaller than the stadium WWE originally booked, and it’s indoors. According to the Wrestling Observer, that added security is believed to be a reason for the switch, which follows Houthi strikes on Saudi infrastructure, including the deadly October 10-11 attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
The move also caught people inside the company off guard. Fightful Select reported that staff at WWE headquarters learned about the venue change when Riyadh Season’s post went out, the same moment as the public.
WWE and TKO had kept a backup venue in the United States ready if needed, per WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, but TKO boss Ari Emanuel said on October 22 that the show was still set for Saudi Arabia. TKO President Mark Shapiro called safety “paramount” during a company town hall held before the move was announced.
Canelo card becomes a dry run
Saturday’s boxing card now doubles as a test for WWE. Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE’s decision to go ahead on November 7 could depend on how the Canelo event plays out, with the show giving WWE and TKO a read on security and travel conditions in Riyadh. The money is significant: the Wrestling Observer has reported WWE could lose up to $90 million if Crown Jewel doesn’t happen in Saudi Arabia.
As of Friday, the ticket page shows prices starting at 80 Saudi riyals with a “Notify Me” button, meaning tickets haven’t gone back on sale yet even as the 48-hour window closes.
The card is headlined by two champion-vs.-champion bouts: Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn for the men’s Crown Jewel Championship and Liv Morgan vs. Chelsea Green for the women’s title. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton meet in a Last Man Standing match, and Penta and Je’Von Evans challenge The Vision for the World Tag Team Championship. Green first has to get through Nikki Bella on Friday’s SmackDown with her WWE Women’s Championship on the line.
