WWE Files Trademark For ‘Iron Built’

WWE has filed another trademark, and nobody can say whose it is.

The company submitted an application for Iron Built on September 10. The filing uses the standard language WWE applies when it trademarks a wrestler’s name, which points to a nickname, a catchphrase, or a faction name rather than a product line.

The goods and services section covers the usual ground. It lists wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer, rendered live and through broadcast media, along with fan club services, online newsletters and blogs in the field of sports entertainment.

That language does not narrow anything down. WWE uses the same block for main roster and NXT filings alike, so the term could surface on either.

The company has been filing steadily. It submitted 946 on August 28, the faction name for Royce Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price, which Keys revealed publicly days later in a digital exclusive. It has also filed for Zilla Fatu following his addition to NXT.

There is a second attempt at WWE Vault in there too, the name of its YouTube channel. The company was refused that trademark previously on the grounds that it was too close to a ticketing company’s existing registration for The Vault.
