WWE has reportedly signed four female athletes who have moved to Orlando, Florida, to train at the Performance Center. According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Gabriela Martinez Asensi, Silvia Likki, Elly Finch and Tayleigh Robertson relocated over the past week after signing with the company. All four took part in WWE tryouts first.
Finch’s signing was reported earlier this week by PWInsider, which said the 23-year-old signed a developmental deal after tryouts in January and August. She threw shot put for Michigan State’s track and field team and was the first girl to play varsity football at Royal Oak High School in Michigan, where she played tackle, left guard and middle linebacker. The August tryout was the SummerSlam weekend session in Minneapolis.
Martinez Asensi is from Spain and played tennis at the University of Missouri. She is a fitness coach with a large social media following and speaks Spanish, English and German. Likki is a CrossFit athlete with more than 200,000 Instagram followers. Robertson is an amateur wrestler and bodybuilder who attended Snow College and Utah Tech.
The signings fit WWE’s push to recruit college and crossover athletes, a strategy it has also pursued with a recruiting booth at the Hawaii Fit Expo. WWE has not announced the signings, and there is no word on when any of the four will appear on television.
