Former WWE star Zelina Vega was upset after someone vandalized the 9/11 Memorial Site.
A video surfaced online of an unknown person spray-painting the 9/11 Memorial Site, where the names of the victims, including Vega’s father, Michael Angel Trinidad, are engraved. A fan shared the video and tagged her, asking if she had seen the act of vandalism.
The former WWE Women’s United States Champion took to X to say she had seen it and was heartbroken and angry. Moreover, Vega was disgusted by the act and believed that the Memorial Site should have extra security.
Yes.. unfortunately, I have seen this. No words can truly describe how angry and heartbroken I am.. but I do know, that this is absolutely disgusting. Extra security is definitely necessary.
This was a deeply disturbing incident, especially for Zelina Vega. Her father, Michael Trinidad, worked as a telecommunications analyst for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 103rd floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower. At the same time, he was a passionate wrestling fan.
Michael was killed during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, when Vega was only 10 years old. Vega was inspired by her father’s love for wrestling to become a professional wrestler. Even after winning the Women’s United States title in 2025, she brought it to the 9/11 Memorial Site as a tribute to her father.
With such a disgusting act at a sacred site, we will have to wait and see if the culprit is punished.
