The AEW fans witnessed the crowning of a new TBS Champion live on television.
She is none other than Queen Aminata. She was scheduled to battle Persephone for the TBS title as part of the double main event of AEW Dynamite: Fright Night. This was her first major main event opportunity on their flagship show.
Queen Aminata made the most of her situation and delivered a captivating performance. However, she had to not only combat the threat of Persephone, but also her ally looming ringside, Dr. Britt Baker. Moreover, at one point, when the fight went outside the ring, the referee was checking on a fallen Persephone, and Britt Baker took advantage and nailed Queen Aminata with the TBS title.
Despite that, she refused to give up and continued to fight. Furthermore, she took The Doctor out of the equation to make it a one-on-one bout. As the match approached the end, Persephone attempted to deliver a powerbomb, but Aminata countered and nailed her with a headbutt, leading to Persephone dropping to the ropes.
Aminata saw the opening and delivered a thunderous Off With Her Head running kick. She covered Persephone for the three-count and became the new TBS Champion in memorable fashion.
With Queen Aminata finally winning her first major AEW singles title, it will be interesting to witness this chapter of her career as a champion.
