WWE creative is planning WrestleMania 43 without Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
WrestleVotes reports for Fightful Select that a source tied to creative says the team is operating under the assumption that Johnson will not be available for any substantial storyline work during the WrestleMania 43 season.
The same source stressed the obvious caveat. These situations change in an instant, and nobody is treating it as final. But as of now, the company is moving forward expecting Johnson will not be part of a major program.
Johnson has not appeared on WWE television since Elimination Chamber in March 2025, when he helped set up John Cena’s heel turn on Cody Rhodes. He has stayed away for roughly 18 months since.
WrestleMania 43 takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027. It will be the first WrestleMania held outside North America.
