Bayley Used Mercedes Moné Phrase In WWE Raw Promo

Bayley is back on television and she came back angry.

She returned on last week’s Raw, her first appearance since losing to Lyra Valkyria at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July, and went straight after her. Bayley interfered in Valkyria’s Money in the Bank qualifier against Sol Ruca and Maxxine Dupri to restart the feud.

WWE aired a promo from her on this week’s Raw from Arena CDMX in Mexico City. She said Valkyria hurt her deliberately and badly enough to take her out of the company, ran through what she believes her 14 years have built for women in wrestling, and finished on a claim.

I’m going to be the one who ends your career before it even gets started. This isn’t the first time that someone’s used my heart, my vulnerability, against me, but it will be the last, because I’m going to shatter everything that you think you know, and Lyra, I’m going to show you and the rest of the world why Bayley is the standard of women’s wrestling.

Some watching heard an echo. Mercedes Moné described herself at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in 2023 as the standard, the conversation, the blueprint and the CEO of the women’s division, and a single shared word was enough for people to line the two up.

Moné spent the summer appearing to hint at a reunion in AEW, and Bayley posted a training video with her in August set to a track called “All In” and captioned “all or nothing, baby,” both of them AEW pay-per-view names.

The contract question has not gone away. Fightful Select reported that Bayley had not signed a new deal, with her current one expected to run out by the end of the year unless injury time is added, while Bryan Alvarez has heard January. Nobody has landed on the same date, and nothing has been reported as signed since.
