Becky Lynch needed her security team to carve a path through a crowd of fans at the Mexico City airport, according to footage posted to X this week showing her and Seth Rollins trying to leave the country after WWE’s run at Arena CDMX.

Lynch ended up boxed in, with phones and cameras pushed toward her face and almost no room to keep walking, until her security physically wedged in between her and the crowd to open a lane.
The clip capped WWE’s biggest international week of the year. The company ran SmackDown at Arena CDMX on September 11, night two of Triplemanía 34 in the same building on September 13, and Raw in Mexico City on September 14, its first Raw in the country in 15 years, with live events in Guadalajara and Monterrey leading into it. Lynch worked Monday’s show in a backstage segment, pressing new Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer for a title shot days after the belt changed hands in Santiago.
Rollins Called This Out Nine Years Ago
Rollins has been publicly against this specific behavior since 2017, when he posted about fans digging up flight details and staking out baggage claim to corner wrestlers for autographs. “That’s called stalking. It’s not okay. Stop doing it,” he wrote at the time.
Reaction to the Mexico City video split along familiar lines. Some fans argued that filming anyone at that range inside a terminal is intrusive regardless of who they are. Others posted longer versions of the footage showing Lynch stopping on her own to interact with people, and noted that Rollins removed himself before anything escalated.
WWE Keeps Running Into This
It’s at least the third flashpoint of the year. Vaquer called out a fan in March who she said followed and recorded her at an airport on her birthday after she had asked for space. “I told you no multiple times, and you kept following me and recording,” she wrote.
A month later, WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas turned into a running argument about talent security. CM Punk knocked a phone out of a fan’s hand in the MGM Grand lobby while the man filmed AJ Lee and Bayley, Randy Orton was swarmed inside the same hotel, and Booker T said a fan filmed him in a bathroom. Punk had already posted a warning the previous October telling people, “Do not turn up at airports. Do not show up at hotels.”
Where the line sits between an autograph ask and an ambush is the part fans still can’t agree on, and the etiquette conversation restarts every few months. Neither Rollins nor Lynch has publicly addressed the Mexico City footage.
