Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer made their returns on the August 3 episode of WWE Raw, confronting Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan during a face to face segment in Des Moines, Iowa.
Lynch, who has been off WWE television since the June 8 episode of Raw, wasted no time getting personal.
“I’m here to make sure you don’t go another 100 days without defending that title, because you’ve become a glorified valet,” Lynch said during the segment. “The Women’s Champion should be fighting, not flirting. And you have had the worst title reign of alllll time. And it’s not just me saying it, everyone else is saying it.”
Vaquer stood alongside Lynch for the confrontation, marking her first appearance on WWE programming since losing the Women’s World Championship to Morgan at WrestleMania 42 in April. She had been sidelined with a shoulder injury since being written off television in the Raw fallout from that show.
Morgan enters the segment fresh off retaining the title against IYO SKY at SummerSlam this past weekend in Minneapolis, a win that followed two successful defenses during WWE’s summer European tour. The double return puts the champion on notice from two women with legitimate claims to a shot, Vaquer as the wrestler she beat for the belt and Lynch as a former Women’s World Champion in her own right.
Where WWE goes from here remains to be seen, but the segment sets up a crowded picture atop the Raw women’s division heading into the fall.
