Brie Bella has revealed the diagnosis behind her WWE SummerSlam injury, confirming on Instagram that she suffered a broken scapula during her match on Night One of the premium live event.

Bella thanked fans for their support while she was in the hospital and confirmed she will be out of action for the time being.

Unfortunately I’ll be out for a bit. I broke my scapula,” she wrote. “If there’s one thing I know about my sister and I is that we don’t let broken bones stop us.

The WWE Hall of Famer also addressed how she managed to finish her match despite the injury.

Not sure how I finished that match, but I do believe between the adrenaline, passion for the business and the love for all the women I work with, it gave me the drive to finish,” she wrote.

Bella teamed with her twin sister Nikki Bella and Paige in a six-woman tag team match against Fatal Influence, made up of Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, at SummerSlam Night One in Minneapolis.

Bella was seen holding her right shoulder for the rest of the match after taking a cannonball from Jayne into the ring steps, and Triple H confirmed after the show that she had been taken to the hospital for scans.

Bella’s Recovery Plan

Bella laid out how her family will help her through the recovery. She said her son Buddy will act as her assistant, her daughter Birdie will be her nurse, and her husband will handle meals as her personal chef.

Now my new journey starts,” she wrote. “If there is one thing I know about Brie Mode, she always finds a way to come back to her wrestling home.

Bella’s update follows a rough 24 hours for the family. Nikki Bella had given an update on her sister’s condition shortly after the show, saying Brie was “in a lot of pain” while doctors worked to determine the extent of the damage. We wish her a full and speedy recovery.
