Eric Bischoff isn’t having it when it comes to fans criticizing Triple H’s daughter over her SummerSlam performance.
Vaughn Evelyn Levesque opened Night One of SummerSlam 2026 by performing “God Bless America,” but the moment quickly drew backlash online, with some fans accusing WWE of nepotism given her parents are Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
‘I’m Proud of Her’
Bischoff addressed the criticism directly on his 83 Weeks podcast, and made his position clear: he’s proud of her, and admitted he can’t imagine having the nerve to do what she did — especially with two of the most recognizable names in wrestling as her parents.
I saw it and… I’m proud of her. I can’t imagine doing that. That takes some real guts, especially because Paul and Stephanie are your parents.
He pointed out just how much pressure that moment carries, standing in front of a crowd of 30,000 to 35,000 people to sing solo, and argued that’s exactly the kind of thing critics should be giving her credit for rather than tearing her down.
Think about that. Put yourself in those shoes. That’s a lot of pressure. And you’re going to stand there and sing in front of thirty, thirty-five thousand people? No, you’ve got to give her credit. I caught it on social media early this morning and I think she did a great job. What are people b******* about?

Regarding the backlash about nepotism, Bischoff said:
I think it’s just standard WWE hater stuff. I understand if you’re going to pick apart anything. Have at it. Have fun. If you want to do your trolling or whatnot…But the idea that you’re picking on a minor… I mean, a child who’s singing ‘God Bless America.’ What are we doing?
Bischoff’s comments add a veteran voice pushing back on the online criticism, framing the performance as an impressive feat under pressure rather than an example of favoritism.
